Christian NLP

Renewing the Mind. Recognizing Patterns. Creating New Choices.

Christian NLP coaching combines professional coaching and Neuro-Linguistic Programming techniques within an explicitly Christian framework.

The goal is not simply to understand why a pattern exists. It is to increase awareness, develop new choices, and intentionally move toward meaningful change while keeping biblical faith at the center of the process.

“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.”
Romans 12:2
Understanding NLP

What Is Neuro-Linguistic Programming?

Neuro-Linguistic Programming, commonly called NLP, is a collection of models and techniques used to explore how people organize their thoughts, language, internal experiences, behaviors, and responses.

In coaching, NLP can provide practical ways to become more aware of patterns that may be operating automatically and to experiment with different ways of thinking, responding, communicating, and taking action.

1

Recognize Patterns

Become more aware of recurring thoughts, beliefs, reactions, habits, and internal strategies.

2

Create Choices

Explore different perspectives and responses instead of automatically repeating familiar patterns.

3

Move Forward

Connect greater awareness with goals, decisions, action, accountability, and intentional change.

The Christian Foundation

How Is This Different From General NLP Coaching?

NLP itself is not Christian theology or a spiritual practice. I use NLP as a coaching methodology and evaluate its use through a biblical worldview.

Scripture remains the foundation through which I understand identity, purpose, growth, transformation, responsibility, relationships, and change.

Depending on the client and coaching conversation, our work may include Scripture, prayer, Christian reflection, discussions of calling and purpose, and practical application.

NLP is a tool I use in coaching. It is not the foundation of my faith.

My Christian worldview provides the framework through which coaching methods and personal-development tools are considered and applied.
Areas We May Explore

What Can Christian NLP Coaching Focus On?

Coaching is individualized, but common areas of exploration may include:

  • Recurring habits and behavioral patterns
  • Limiting beliefs or internal conclusions
  • Decision-making
  • Motivation
  • Values and priorities
  • Goal setting
  • Communication patterns
  • Leadership development
  • Personal responsibility
  • Future planning
  • Accountability
  • Intentional action
Important Distinction

Coaching Is Not Therapy

Paul Hackett Coaching provides coaching and personal-development services. Coaching is not psychotherapy, psychological treatment, psychiatric care, medical treatment, diagnosis, or crisis intervention. When a client's needs fall outside the appropriate scope of coaching, referral to a qualified professional may be recommended.
What Coaching Looks Like

A Practical, Individualized Process

Christian NLP coaching is not a one-size-fits-all script. The coaching process is adapted to your goals, progress, circumstances, and the areas you want to address.

Sessions may include conversation, questions, NLP techniques, reflection, Scripture, prayer, exercises, assignments, goal setting, and accountability.

  • Private one-to-one coaching
  • Available by Zoom
  • Available in person in North Central Massachusetts
  • Structured exercises when appropriate
  • Between-session assignments
  • Ongoing accountability
